A MOTHER is appealing for help after thieves broke into her shed and garage and stole bikes and tools worth around £3,000.
The burglars entered Nicola Lewis’s property in the Yarm Road area of Darlington overnight between Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 12.
They stole two Chris Boardman bikes – one hybrid and one mountain bike with front suspension – worth around £700 each. Both bikes are black with yellow and silver logos.
They also took a number of DeWalt tools and snowboarding trousers.
The 34-year-old said she uses one of the bikes to cycle to work in Sandhutton, near Thirsk.
She said: “I am absolutely furious and sick to the teeth. I had got everything ready to cycle to work in the morning and saw the bikes had gone.”
A Durham Police spokesman said enquiries are ongoing and urged any witnesses to call 101.
