A GHOSTLY apparition has appeared above Durham Castle – reviving memories of last year’s Lumiere light spectacular.
The installation by Durham University students was inspired by a ghost said to haunt the castle’s black staircase.
Echo of the Lumiere, featuring light-based installations around Durham Castle, runs until Sunday (March 16).
The art includes a garden gnome in the master’s garden.
It has been funded by University College master Professor David Held and is being led by senior common room member Goshka Bialek, an internationally-renowned artist.
Lumiere 2013 saw about 175,000 people visit Durham City over four nights last November.
