STAFF and volunteers at a town centre charity shop held a day of fun and fundraising to mark its tenth anniversary.

The Scope shop has been in the Cornmill shopping centre, in Darlington, for the past ten years.

The anniversary was marked with cake and balloons on Tuesday (March 11).

Store manager Sally Johnson said it had been a fun occasion and customers had helped swell the coffers of the charity’s Change for Change campaign, in which people are encourage to part with loose change in an effort to improve the lives of disabled people.

Before moving to the Cornmill in 2004, the charity was based in Skinnergate for more than 20 years.
