A COUPLE who won their dream wedding thanks to The Northern Echo's readers have enlisted the aid of an expert baker to help choose their cake.
Julie Bond and Darren Hird were victorious in The Northern Echo’s Win a Wedding competition in July last year.
The couple, who have been together for more than four years, will tie the knot at a civil ceremony at The Croft Hotel, near Darlington, on June 7 in front of 50 family and friends.
They met with Sharon Bimson, of Stockton-based Sadie May Cakes, who, as part of the prize, is providing the couple with a three or four tier wedding cake worth £450.
She will also help set the cake up at the hotel on the big day.
Miss Bond, 43, said: “We are really indecisive so she can help us choose which cake is best.
“I think we will have a three tier cake and will have to have a chocolate one, a lemon one and a fruitcake.”
The couple won their dream wedding after a public vote against dozens of other hopefuls.
