Police are appealing for help in tracking down an inmate with a distinctive gold tooth after he failed to return to Kirklevington Prison near Yarm

Wayne Land, 41, was allowed out on day release during the week and weekends but failed to appear on the evening of Saturday March 1.

Officers have been searching for him not only in Cleveland but other areas where he has connections.

He is described as 6’2” tall with blue eyes, of slim build with short mousey greying hair and an upper front gold tooth.

Land was serving time for a burglary offence in the South Yorkshire area, where he originates.
