A new exhibition at the Centre for Local Studies in Crown Street Library, Darlington, is celebrating 125 years of Northern League football. ‘Northern League 125' has been compiled by John Phelan of the Durham Amateur Football Trust and features programmes, photographs and Northern League magazines. Visitors will also be able to see Seamus O’Connell’s football shirt, worn in the 1959 Amateur Cup Final, and an Amateur Cup winners’ medal from 1950.

COFFEE MORNING: A table top sale and coffee morning is taking place at Heighington Village Hall on March 15 and bookings are being taken for stalls. It costs £8 to book a table and anybody interested should contact Anne Dobson on 01388 772360. The event will raise money for St Michael’s Church and will run from 10am to noon.

MAKEUP MASTERCLASS: Bannatyne Hotel on Southend Avenue is hosting a free ‘makeup masterclass’ session designed for women suffering from cancer. The session runs on Tuesday (March 11) from 1pm to 3pm and is in partnership with the Look Good Feel Better charity which helps women combat the visible side effects of cancer treatment. The two hour masterclass will see volunteer beauty professionals take participants through a specially designed ten step skincare and make-up regime.
