WRITERS are discussing their latest works with readers with a series of library visits in the region.

Novelists Sarah Stovell and Rebecca Muddiman and poets Mark Robinson and Tara Bergin will visit libraries in County Durham as part of Read Regional 2014.

The annual campaign, run by New Writing North, brings emerging and established writers to communities across the North-East, Yorkshire and Humberside.

Sarah Stovell, who grew up in Oxfordshire, but now lives in Northumberland, is talking about her new novel, The Night Flower, when she visits Consett Library today.

Winner of the Northern Writers’ Award in 2010 and the Northern Crime Competition 2012, Rebecca Muddiman was born and raised in Redcar.

She will be visiting Spennymoor Library on Thursday, April 10, at 11am to discuss her latest novel, Stolen.

Mark Robinson’s poetry collection, How I Learned to Sing, contains new, ambitious poems alongside the best of his work from the past 25 years.

The Stockton writer visits Consett Library on Thursday, April 3 at 2pm along with Tara Bergin.

Her accomplished debut collection combines lyricism with fairytale and folklore. Born in Dublin, she studied at Newcastle University and now lives in North Yorkshire.

Poetry enthusiasts are also invited to a poetry reading workshop at Lanchester Library on Tuesday, April 8 at 2pm.
