THE Bishop Auckland Astronomical Society will hold an open day for beginners at Bishop Auckland Community fire Station from 10.15am to 2.30pm, on Saturday, March 1, to mark the start of National Astronomy Week.
Visitors can learn the basics of astronomy and look for sunspots and Jupiter through telescopes.
Entry costs £2 for non-society members.
All are welcome.
WHIST DRIVE: Kirk Merrington over 60s Club is holding a whist and domino drive in the village hall on Saturday, March 1, at 2pm. Admission is £2, including refreshments.
