DANISH students are visiting Durham as part of a cultural exchange programme.

The 32 students aged 16 to 19 from Niels Brock Business College, in Copenhagen, will spend eight weeks based at New College Durham as part of a vocational course.

They will visit Tyneside, Beamish Museum, The Bowes Museum, Hartlepool Marina, York and Whitby and yesterday (Thursday, January 30) met Councillor Pauline Charlton, the Mayor of Durham, at Durham Town Hall.

They will also study business and IT at the college, alongside Durham students.

David Taylor, the college’s head of international partnerships, said: “The students at Neils Brock were given the choice of studying in Dublin, Australia, America or Durham for their eight-week study period, so we are delighted and excited that over 30 Danish students chose to study with us in Durham.”
