A MOTHER could save up to £400-a-year on her energy bills after receiving help from a Government scheme.
Eileen Falcon was given loft and external wall insulation, a new eco-friendly boiler, new radiators and a replacement electric fire under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and Green Deal initiatives.
The part-time legal secretary qualified for help because her home in Low Fell, Gateshead, was not suitable for conventional energy measures.
She said: “These schemes have saved me from real financial hardship.
“Before the work I constantly worried about how I would ever afford to replace my boiler or fix the walls.
“It’s wonderful to know that, as someone who works, I can still qualify for financial help from schemes like this.”
