A KEEP fit group has given a healthy boost to Macmillan funds by donating £500 to the charity.
Members of KFA Moves Darlington raised the amount through a variety of activities, including a sponsored walk, a silent auction, selling handmade greetings cards plus raffles and donations.
Keen fundraiser Michelle Thompson, who has raised around £125,000 for Macmillan since beating cancer herself, accepted the donation on behalf of the charity.
Heather Towers, chair of KFA Moves, said: “We at KFA Moves have been touched by the commitment, dedication, and compassion shown by Macmillan nurses to patients and their families.
“It has been a privilege to be able to support their organisation in this small way.”
KFA Moves Darlington is also celebrating 30 years of its Thursday dance exercise class run by Veronica Ridsdale since the building of the hall at St Thomas Aquinas Church in North Road.
Anyone wishing to join the club can contact Catherine Gilsenan on 01325-332572.
