PACT MEETING: At a recent Pact meeting in Howden-le-Wear, PCSO Shaun King reported that in the last month there had been a community speedwatch on Hargill Road in the village and five out of 107 vehicles had been caught over the 30mph limit. Each driver received a warning notice. There were two reports of rowdy behaviour, two complaints relating to vehicle parking and one of noise from a pub. The priority is still speeding vehicles and the next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 12, in Howden-le-Wear Community Centre at 6.30pm.
PUBLIC MEETING: A public meeting will be held in Howden-le-Wear Community Centre at 7pm on Monday, January 27. Please come along to this important meeting to hear the ideas put forward and to air your views on the future of the community centre.
TRUST TALK: Members of the Durham Amateur Football Trust are the guest speakers at the next meeting of the Crook and District Local History Society on Tuesday, January 28, at 7.30pm in the RAFA Club, Crook. The trust will provide a display, show a film and hopes to have former players of Crook Town FC available for a talk-in.

STEPPING OUT: A Boot 'n' Scoot line dancing session will be held at St Catherine's Community Centre, Market Place, Crook on Friday, January 24. It takes place from 12.30pm to 2.30pm and participants are asked to note the change of time. Other activities at the community centre include a Burns Night supper on Saturday, January 25, from 7pm, and a zumba session on Monday, January 27, from 6pm to 7pm.
