Police appeal to help trace Shildon lead thief
POLICE are appealing for help to trace a man who tried to steal lead from the bay window of a house in Shildon.
The male used ladders to access the top floor window of a house on Regent Street between 8.50pm and 8.57pm on Sunday, January 12.
The thief, who was wearing a camouflage jacket, had removed some lead before he was disturbed and he made off in the direction of Byerley Road.
He is believed to have returned a short time later to remove the ladders.
