A ROTARY International peace scholar will be making his first visit to the region later this month.
Sang Luaia, from Mandalay, Myanmar, will be the guest of Barnard Castle Rotary Club at Teesdale School on Friday, January 24.
Accompanied by his wife Rebecca and their baby daughter, Mr Luaia will talk about his family, his home country and his previous work with World Vision International and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
The free event begins at 6pm and is open to the public. Any donations made on the night will go to charity.
Organisers say tickets will be available on the door, but booking in advance is preferred.
