DURHAM County Council has launched an appeal to recruit 50 foster carers in 2014.

The authority is particularly looking for carers who can look after teenagers, as well as those families who can offer a long-term home to children.

Three drop in sessions will take this month when the public can findout more information on become a foster carer.

The sessions will take place on: - January 16, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm at Lamplight Arts Centre, Stanley.

- January 17, between 11am and 4pm at Durham Town Hall.

- January 23, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm at Four Clocks Centre, Bishop Auckland.

The council said lots of support was available to new foster carers.
