A MAN has been cut free after becoming trapped in an overturned digger.
The man was taken to hospital after firefighters freed him from a mini-digger which had toppled over onto its side at The Bye, The Grove, Consett, County Durham, this morning (Tuesday, January 7).
The extent of his injuries are not known.
A fire crew from Consett and a special rescue unit from Bishop Auckland were called out shortly after 8.30am, by which time an ambulance had already arrived.
The man was cut free and taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Durham, in Durham City.
The incident had been dealt with by 9.10am.
