AN exhibition will showcase the creative outpourings of an arts and wellbeing group this month.

Phoenix Art Group will display a variety of paintings, drawings, prints, textiles, books and sculptures at Greenfield Community and Arts Centre in Newton Aycliffe.

Based in Stockton-on-Tees, the group offers a safe and welcoming space for people to engage in arts and crafts activities every Saturday at Portrack Community Centre.

A large range of materials and equipment are available for participants to use and local artist Adrian Moule, who has been involved with the group since 2003, provides support, encouragement and knowledge.

Phoenix Art Group continues to grow in numbers and aspirations, with some participants going on to study art and design at college and university level.

Funding has come from a number of sources over the years, including Northern Rock and the Heritage Lottery Fund, as well as the members themselves.

This exhibition, which runs from Thursday, January 8, to Wednesday, January 29, showcases the talent currently within the group, with almost every regular participant exhibiting at least one piece of work.

The gallery is open from 10am to 9pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 10am to 4pm on Friday.

Entry is free.
