AYCLIFFE Village Local History Society’s next meeting will take place at 7pm on Wednesday, January 15, at Aycliffe Village Hall on North Terrace. A talk, entitled “Filming of Archaeology and the Mystery of the Picklehaulbe- the Story of a First and Second World War Soldier”, will be given by Angela Jobson. METER DAMAGEL: Police in Sedgefield are appealing for help after someone tried unsuccessfully to force entry to a parking meter on the grounds of Hardwick Park between Tuesday, December 31, and Saturday, January 4. No cash was taken but the meter was badly damaged. Anyone with information should contact Sedgefield Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
