Police are hunting burglars who broke into an Italian takeaway in Ferryhill to steal frozen burgers, chips and cheese. The intruders entered the rear yard of Siciliano, on Darlington Road, before forcing entry to a storeroom. The break-in took place between midnight and 4.30pm on Sunday, January 5. CRIMINAL DAMAGE: The rear light of a car parked on Jubilee Road, in Shildon, was smashed between 6.30pm on Tuesday, December 31 and 11am on Wednesday, January 1. Anyone who can help with enquiries should contact Shildon police on 101.
FALSE ALARM: Police attended Shildon Civic Hall, in Shildon, at 9.30pm on Saturday, January 4 following reports of an incident. They cordoned off a section outside of the hall while they examined the scene before deciding that no crime had been committed.
