PERFORMERS and participants involved in disability sport will be given the opportunity to thank their sporting heroes at a sports awards.
Nominations are now open for the 2013 North East Disability Sports Awards, which will see performers, clubs, coaches and volunteers from across the region recognised for their commitment to their sport.
The event is in its seventh year and is supported by the English Federation of Disability Sport and the four North East County Sports Partnerships (CSPs).
The categories this year are: male personality; female personality, young male achiever, young female achiever, club of the year; coach of the year, participant of the year and service to sport award.
Previous winners have included young male achiever Josef Craig, young female achiever Stephanie Moore and male personality Terry Bywater.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, January 10.
