THE Environment Agency says it is continuing to monitor river levels as a band of heavy rain sweeps the region.
The agency issued flood alerts for Skelton Beck and Skinnigrove Beck, in east Cleveland.
It said they were expected to flood from midnight, affecting low lying land and some roads. However no flooding to nearby homes was expected.
Significant rainfall over the past few weeks has left many areas saturated, although the region has escaped the worst of the stormy weather recently affecting parts of the UK.
If anyone is concerned about possible flooding call the Floodline on 0845 988 1188, select option 1 and enter Quickdial number 134500 to get more information.
