A CREATIVE evening class will start a new term this month and beginners are invited to try a lesson before deciding whether to enrol.

The Teesdale Pottery Group will launch its ten week course at Teesdale School, Prospect Place, in Barnard Castle, on Thursday, January 16, from 6pm to 8pm.

It will run every Thursday until March 27, there will be no class on February 20 because of the half term holiday.

Complete beginners will learn the basics of handling clay and hand building methods while more advanced students will be set projects to extend their imagination and creativity as well as learning advanced skills such as throwing and mould making.

The course costs £90, which includes all materials and equipment.

Enrolment takes place on the first night and anyone unsure if they want to commit to the term can attend the first session before enrolling.
