PEOPLE wanting to become a Special Constable for Cleveland Police are being invited to take part in a web chat on Monday (January 6) to learn more about the role.
Special Commandant David Robinson and Cleveland’s Deputy Chief Constable Iain Spittal will be on hand to provide information on the recruitment and training process and to answer any questions from members of the public interested in applying.
A drop-in session was held on Monday evening (December 30) with all available places snapped up.
Speaking after the event newly appointed Chief Officer for the Specials Constables, David Robinson, said the suggested interest in joining is very high.
“We were delighted that so many people came along to the drop-in session and I believe next Monday’s web chat will allow those who were unable to attend to gather more information and ask questions to see if going ahead with an application is right for them,” he said.
The web chat will begin at 6pm next Monday and can be accessed via the Cleveland Police website www.cleveland.police.uk Information on joining the Special Constabulary will be posted on Cleveland Police’s website from Sunday, January 12, when online applications may be made from 10am.
