A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after being knocked off his bike in a road collision this morning (Sunday, December 29).
The man, in his mid-30s, was not thought to be seriously hurt but was taken by ambulance to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with what was described as cuts and bruises.
Cleveland Police temporarily closed the B1269 road, off the A174 near Yearby, in the Redcar area, following the accident at about 10.40am.
Inspector Ian White said: “We closed the road temporarily so the ambulance could get through but we re-opened it soon afterwards.”
