A FORMER police officer has been jailed for 19 years for a series of sickening sex attacks.

Wayne Scott carried out a series of rapes and assaults on a number of victims over several years Judge James goss QC described him as manipulative, controlling and domineering.

Newcastle Crown Court heard how the disgraced former officer also offered to pay a teenage girl for sex on a number of occasions as well carrying out a sexual assault on her.

One of his victims was in court to hear the sexual deviant being sentenced.

The court heard how Scott, formerly of Stockton, has contacted one of his victims by letter and sending her a visitor form to see him in prison.

During the hearing the rapist sat with his head bowed, mouthing sorry to people in the public gallery.

The court heard extracts from one of his victim's personal impact statement where she said she was in fear of his release.

She wrote: "In the past two weeks Wayne has sent me a card and a letter, and the letter contained a visitor order."

And she concluded: "Not once throughout the whole process has he said sorry for raping me."

Scott was found guilty of rape and attempted rape after a five day trial in October.

He had already pleaded guilty to seven rapes, two common assaults, one sexual assault and two charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The offences were carried out on three victims, including a teenage girl.
