BUDDING stage stars brought a touch of midsummer madness to the Christmas season in Darlington last weekend with a musical adaption of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Members of Identity Youth Theatre performed a special version of the classic play, adapted for young people by Shakespeare4Kidz, the UK's National Shakespeare Company for children and young people.
The show was held at Longfield School on Saturday, December 14.
Director Jo Ebberley said: "I am so proud of all of the Identity members. They have launched themselves into our first full scripted performance with such commitment and hard work. From characterisation to costume design and staging to song arrangements the cast have made all the decisions - it was truly an ensemble piece "
Identity Youth Theatre, which celebrates its first birthday in January, meets at St Cuthbert's Church Hall, in Darlington, on Saturdays, for members aged between five and 18.
New members are always welcome. You can find out more at identitytheatre.co.uk or call/text Jo on 07891 209 793.
