A PENSIONER who suffers from dementia returned home covered in cuts and bruises after going for a walk in an east Cleveland village.

The 66-year-old, who was attacked between 6pm and 7pm on Wednesday, December 11, returned home with facial injuries and other injuries to his upper body and leg. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “At this time police would like to appeal to anybody who may have information on how he came about his injuries or anyone who may have witnessed the assault.

“It is believed that the man could have travelled between Saltburn Road and Cattersty Way and Byron Court leading to the play park in Brotton.”
