TV weatherman Fred Talbot has been arrested on suspicion of indecently assaulting a pupil at a North-East school.
The 63-year-old is being questioned in relation to a former pupil at an unnamed Newcastle school.
Mr Talbot was also arrested on suspicion of indecent assaults and buggery in relation to five former pupils at a school in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.
It is the second time the celebrity meteorologist has been questioned after first being arrested on April 9 on suspicion of historic sex offences in relation to allegations of abuse against four pupils at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys when he was a teacher there.
After the first arrest, detectives revealed that the former biology teacher worked at several schools in the North-East between 1968 and the early 1970s, and appealed for former pupils to come forward with any information.
Greater Manchester Police said he remains on police bail in relation to one count of indecent assault.
No further action has been taken in relation to the other alleged offences for he was originally arrested.
He is in police custody for questioning.
