A public meeting for people to discuss concerns about crime in Lanchester is being held on Wednesday, January 22, at 7.15pm at Lanchester Community Centre on Newbiggin Lane.

All members of the community are welcome to attend and local police officers will be there.

MEETING DATE: Stanley Town Council is holding an ordinary meeting on Tuesday, December 17, at 6.30pm in Stanley Civic Hall, formerly the Lamplight Arts Centre.

An update on the future of the Civic Hall will be discussed during the public section of the agenda.

PING PONG: The Table Tennis Club meets on Wednesday evenings in the small hall of Lanchester Community Centre from 7pm-9pm.

Two championship tables are available with coaching by qualified volunteers and special coaching sessions provided by the English Table Tennis Association.

LIVE SHOW: The Circus of Horrors, the show that stormed into the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, is coming to the Empire Theatre in Consett, on Saturday February 15 at 7.30pm.

It features some of the greatest, most daring, bizarre and beautiful circus acts on Earth, from sword swallowers to dare devil balancing acts, from hair hangers to demon dwarfs.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLE: A gentle exercise class designed to help improve fitness is held at Belle Vue Swim Centre in Consett on Wednesdays at 12.45pm for an hour.

DANCE FIT: Strictly FitSteps is a fitness class based on Latin and Ballroom dances with sessions at the Louisa Centre in Stanley on Sundays from 9.30am.

From January 9, classes will be held on Thursdays 5pm-6pm. Entry costs £3.90.
