A MAN has been told to expect a very substantial prison sentence after admitting possessing £300,000-worth of high-purity cocaine with intent to supply.
Wayne Bruce received the warning from Judge Christopher Prince after the 32-year-old pleaded guilty to a single charge of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply in an appearance at Durham Crown Court today (Friday, December 6).
Bruce, of Cedarwood Gardens, Sunderland, was found with two packages of cocaine weighing a total of nearly 2kg on September 17.
The packages were 73 and 74 per cent purity, around three times higher than usual, giving them a combined street value of around £300,000.
Judge Prince agreed to adjourn the case for a pre-sentence report to be prepared on Bruce but said he should expect a “very substantial term of imprisonment”.
Bruce was remanded in custody to return to the court to be sentenced on January 10.
