THE Ebac Northern League, the world’s second oldest, is marking its 125th anniversary with the publication of Northern Conquest – a 128-page book overflowing with history, statistics, profiles and anecdotes and costing just £3 99.

It has been edited and co-written by Northern Echo columnist and league chairman Mike Amos.

“If there’s ever been a better football book, I’ve yet to see it,” wrote Cumbrian journalist Ross Brewster.

Website visitors have a chance to win a copy simply by naming the Northern League club which won the FA Amateur Cup ten times.

The book, the perfect stocking filler, is available on Amazon, from Northern League clubs or by post (plus £1 50) from Brian Mulligan, 41 Mitford Court, Sedgefield, Co Durham TS21 2JE.
