DURHAM Ramblers make short journeys north-westwards and eastwards for bracing winter walks in the coming week.
The walking group is to tackle a nine-mile route in the Iveston, Crookhall and Knitsley areas, near Leadgate and Consett, in north-west Durham, on Sunday (December 1).
Walkers should meet in the centre of Iveston village for a 10.30am start.
The ramblers’ Wednesday Walk, on 4 December, is an easier seven mile stroll from Durham Wildlife Trust’s Rainton Meadows reserve to Lumley Castle, near Chester-le-Street.
Walkers should meet at Rainton Meadows for a 10.30am start.
