PRIMARY schoolchildren can now use playground equipment they designed themselves.

Pupils at Frederick Nattrass Primary in Stockton helped design and select equipment for their new playground.

The existing play area at the school lacked fixed physical and role play equipment and the state of the area meant that it was out of bounds during the winter months.

Staff at play equipment company Sovereign worked with the staff and pupils, to design a play area that would provide all weather access to equipment.

The equipment installed includes a Brig Play Ship which the children requested.

Caroline Reed, headteacher at Frederick Nattrass Primary School commented: “We were very impressed with the way Sovereign helped us, as well as the way they carried out the installation, which was very quick and mess free.

"The children are thrilled, especially with the Brig Play Ship, as it was the only ship that they could find in any of the catalogues they looked at.”
