Motorist cut from his car and airlifted to hospital after crash

A MOTORIST was cut from his car by firefighters and airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital after a two-vehicle collision.
The 65-year-old man suffered serious neck and back injuries in the crash which took place on Hurworth Burn Road, Trimdon, close to Dropswell Farm.
Emergency services were dispatched at 5.35pm on Saturday (October 26). Firecrews cut the roof off one car to free the injured driver.
The Great North Air Ambulance took the motorist to hospital. It is unclear if the other driver was injured in the accident.
