Two cut free after two vehicle Peterlee smash
A man and a woman had to be cut free by firefighters this evening (Thursday, October 24) following a two vehicle smash on the South West Industrial Estate, Peterlee.
Two crews from Peterlee and a special incident unit from Bishop Auckland responded shortly after 7pm after receiving reports that two people were trapped in the collision on Shotton Road.
They used cutting equipment to free them from the wreckage and the man and woman, who suffered neck and facial injuries, were taken by ambulance to Sunderland General Hospital. Fire crews were at the scene for about an hour.
