THE Arctic Monkeys were greeted by a rapturous sell-out audience at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle tonight.
Sheffield's Indie rockers opened with the first single from their latest album AM, 'Do I Wanna Know?'.
Singer Alex Turner, sporting his trademark quiff, then returned to second album Favourite Worst Nightmare, and its opening track 'Brianstorm'.
Their AM tour takes in the UK, Europe and the US and the album is the band's fifth consecutive number one album.
They shot to wider prominence after playing their best know hit 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor' during the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics and earlier this year headlined Glastonbury's Pyramid stage.
