Woman struck by Metro train at station

A WOMAN has been seriously injured after being struck by a Metro train.
Police were called to the incident, at the Byker Metro station in Newcastle, at just before 7.20pm.
The 44-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment. The Metro service was suspended for a short time.
Police said no-one else was involved in the incident, but have asked witnesses to call them on 101.
