Three police officers injured in Newcastle collision
THREE police officers have been injured in a collision in Newcastle.
It happened just before 1.20pm today, when the collision, involving three cars and two police cars, happened at the car park of Go Outdoors in West Denton.
Three police officers were taken to hospital for treatment, one with an arm injury, another with concussion and a third with stiffness to their back. None are believed to be seriously injured.
Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing. One of the people in custody is also receiving treatment for minor injuries.
Superintendent Peter Farrell, from Newcastle Area Command, said: "An investigation is underway to establish exactly what has happened and three arrests have been made. These people are helping with our enquiries.
"Two officers have been injured and are receiving hospital treatment.
"I'd like to stress that the car park at Go Outdoors is still open for business and there is no disruption to surrounding business or the road network."
