Permission granted for housing at former Tantobie post office

Permission has been granted for the extension and sub-division of the former Tantobie Post Office in Front Street, Tantobie, to create four dwellings. Durham County Council planning officer also approved the creation of a further two dwellings to the rear.
PACT MEETING: A Police and Community Together (Pact) meeting will be held at the Blackhall Resource Centre, in Blackhall, from 6pm to 7pm on Wednesday, October 9. A member of the neighbourhood policing team will be in attendance.
BED EXERCISE: Durham and District Women's Cancer Support Group will meet in the Education Department Common Room of the University Hospital of North Durham at 7.30pm on Monday October 14.Rosie Wood, Macmillan therapy service lead at Willowburn Hospital, will demonstrate the values of Lebed exercises for people with lymphodoema.
MASSAGE THERAPY: Durham County Council planning officers have granted permission for the change of use of a retail unit at 126 Front Street, Chester-le-Street, to form a sports massage therapy facility.
CHARITY NIGHT: The Horden Chairman’s annual charity night will be held at the Horden Social Welfare Centre, in Horden, near Peterlee, from 7pm to 11pm on Saturday, October 19. Tickets are £4 and include pies and peas or quiche and entertainment by Rivelino. Proceeds will be shared between Marie Curie Cancer Care and Alzheimer’s Research. PERMISSION REFUSED: An application seeking retrospective planning permission for two stables, a field shelter and caravan at River View Farm, Crossgate Moor, near Durham City, has been refused.
KEEP FIT: A new Healthy Horizons Keep Fit class will be held at the Bearpark Community Centre, in Bearpark, near Durham, from 10.30am to 11am on Tuesday’s from October 8. Sessions are £2 each.
