Tractor rally raises money for sick kids
A TRACTOR rally in the North-East has raised around £1,500 for sick children.
Lorry driver Brian Watson, 57, Esh Winning, organised the run on the country roads of County Durham today. (Sunday, September 29) Proceeds of the event will go towards Headstart4Babies, which supports families with babies with skull deformities.
Mr Watson said: “I would to thank everyone who helped marshal it and organise it.
"They all deserve a pat on the back. It is for a good cause.
“Not everyone is fortunate and some children are born with some terrible deformities.
“They are not well so hopefully we can make things a little bit better for them.”
The rally started and finished at Ushaw College, near Durham, and included 91 tractors dating from the 1940s up to modern day.
Mr Watson added: “We have had tremendous day, which has been backed up by the public.”
