Agility equipment installed on Millennium Green

RESIDENTS can keep themselves in shape on agility equipment bought with funding from their former councilor.
The equipment , along with wildlife sculptures , have been installed at the Millennium Green in Chillingham Road, Waldridge Park, Chester-le-Street.
It was bought with funding from the neighbourhood budget of Allan Bainbridge when he was the area’s Durham County councilor.
He saw similar equipment being put in at Chester-le-Street’s Riverside Park and asked Walridge Parish Council - who are trustees of the green - if they would like some. Mr Bainbridge said: “I felt that the Millenium Green could be enhanced with some form of agility equipment as the green is used by many people.
“This type of equipment promotes fitness and could help with improving the health and well-being of whoever uses it.
Parish council chairman Michael Huston said: “I lot of people use the green and we thought that yjis would be a great thing to add to it.
“The equipment has proved very popular.”
