Paul Michael Glaser of Starsky and Hutch fame raises roof at Newcastle Theatre Royal

Paul Michael Glaser, best remembered for his character Starsky in the 70s cop series Starsky & Hutch, is raising the roof at a North-East theatre.
The actor is taking centre stage alongside Jennifer Douglas in Craig Revel Horwood’s production of Fiddler on the Roof appearing at Newcastle Theatre Royal until Saturday (September 28).
Fiddler on the Roof is one of the most popular of all stage musicals and one of Broadway’s longest-running of all time with a marathon run of over 13 years and over 3,000 performances from its premiere in 1964.
Paul Michael Glaser starred in the classic 1971 film version of the musical, in the role of the student and Bolshevik revolutionary Perchik who falls in love with Tevye’s second daughter. Now he is taking on the lead role of Tevye.
Paul Michael Glaser is best known for playing David Starsky in Starsky and Hutch TV series opposite David Soul.
On stage he has appeared in over 50 roles in regional, repertory, off-Broadway and Broadway theatre in the US.
Evening performances of Fiddler on the Roof are at 7.30pm, while there are matinee performances at 2pm tomorrow (Thursday, September 26) and at 2.30pm on Saturday.
