Trains delayed in York by man later detained under Mental Health Act
12:56pm Wednesday 18th September 2013 in News
TRAINS heading into and out of York were stopped this lunchtime (Wednesday, September 18) after a man climbed onto railings on a bridge overlooking railway lines.
The man was seen on Scarborough Railway Bridge, on the York to Scarborough line, at about 12.20pm and services were stopped in both directions while British Transport Police were called to the scene.
He has now been detained under the Mental Health Act, according to a British Transport Police spokeswoman, but is not believed to have been injured. The line has now been reopened in both directions.
