FIREFIGHTERS in Sedgefield took a break from fighting flames to raise cash for charity on Saturday (September 14).
Six crew members joined in the fundraising car wash that took part in Sainsbury’s car park, on Salters Lane, Sedgefield.
More than £100 was raised in the first hour and locals were queuing to join in the fun.
The community was in high spirits as youngsters had their photograph taken with the firefighters.
Rachael Owens, manager of Sainsbury’s at Sedgefield said: “It has been a great day all round.
“We are happy to utilize the space we have in the car park and hope to make this an annual event.”
All funds raised will go towards The Fire Fighter’s Charity which works with active and retired fire fighters to enhance their quality of life.
