Officers' efforts swell charity coffers

A TEAM of Darlington police officers have raised £700 for Help for Heroes by taking part in a gruelling charity obstacle course.
Officers from the North Road police team travelled to Broughton Hall, near Skipton, North Yorkshire, for the Tough Mudder event earlier this month.
Described by organisers as one of the toughest challenges on the planet, Tough Mudder is a series of obstacles designed to reward teamwork over individual achievement.
Among the officers making up ‘team Hot Fuzz’ were Sergeant Daryl Edmunds, PC John Forster, PC Tony Young, PCSO Richard Strong and special constable Daniel Kempf.
Also taking part were volunteer Tomasz Fladro and Sgt Edmunds’ student son, Simon, with support from family and friends.
The team completed the 12-mile challenge in about three hours and Sgt Edmunds has thanked everyone who offered donations and support.
