A NORTH-EAST racecourse is staging a charity raceday to raise funds for injured servicemen and women and their families.
Sedgefield Racecourse in County Durham will hold its Salute Our Heroes Raceday on Tuesday, October 1, to raise funds for ABF The Soldiers Charity and the Soldiers', Sailors', Airmen's and Families' Association (SSAFA).
The event, which starts at 2.20pm, will feature seven races, with the last race setting off at 5.40pm.
A variety of packages are available, including the Pie and Peas package for £15 and the premium package for £30 The Salute Our Heroes package, which includes a donation to both charities, costs £75 and includes a three-course lunch, welcome drink, reserved table, hospitality admission and a programme.
Sedgefield racecourse has raised more than £40,000 for armed forces charities over the last few years by taking part in sponsored activities and hosting fundraising events, including concerts and the Miss Durham contest.
