Darlington youngsters hold fundraiser for Syrian children
6:28pm Friday 6th September 2013 in News
A GROUP of young friends organised a cake and jumble sale to raise funds for children affected by the Syrian crisis.
The children, who live in Darlington, held the sale in their street last Sunday and raised £90, which will be donated to Unicef.
Youngsters from the town’s Lunedale Road came together, inspired by sisters Molly and Katie Darby, aged eight and 11.
Together with their friends – Katharine and William Todd, Kate and Annabel Noble and Maya and Isobelle Watson – they even sold some of their toys to raise money.
The children’s proud parents have praised the generosity of neighbours in Lunedale Road.
