A CHARITY is set to benefit from unwanted walking clothes after teaming up with a recycling organisation.
Thirsk charity North Yorkshire Youth, which provides learning and development opportunities for eight to 25-year- olds, including activities at Carlton Lodge Outdoor Centre, has been selected as charity of the month by the recycling organisation Gift Your Gear.
For the month of September, Gift Your Gear has partnered with Rohan, the outdoor and travel clothing company, to collect unwanted outdoor clothing and equipment of all brands through Rohan stores. Customers making a donation can claim a 15 per cent discount in-store that day.
James Wainwright, business development manager at North Yorkshire Youth, said: “Gift Your Gear is a fantastic idea, and we’re extremely grateful for their support.
“Every year more than 5,000 children and young people visit Carlton Lodge Outdoor Centre from all over Yorkshire and the North-East.
“This amazing donation will ensure that even more will benefit in the future from confidence building and learning practical new skills outdoors.”
