A TALENTED group of singers are set to be working alongside one of the region’s greatest rock stars when they perform in a show destined for Broadway.
The Wilson Family, a local folk acapella singing group of five brothers from Teesside, will begin rehearsals with Sting next week before heading across to the States to continue work on the project celebrating the history of the North East shipyards.
Last year they were invited to join a select group of North Eastern musicians and folk artists in a new musical project.
And tonight (Thursday) they had their final rehearsal in The Wellington Inn, Wolviston, near Billingham, before setting off on their musical adventure.
The group has already performed at the Royal Albert Hall, as part of the Percy Grainger BBC Prom alongside Kathryn Tickell and other folk artists, The Northern Philharmonic and the BBC male voice choir.
