Burglar who raided Middlesbrough doctor's home is jailed
A BURGLAR who raided the home of a doctor and stole a lap-top computer and digital camera was today (Wednesday, September 4) jailed for more than two years.
Stephen Davis was caught a short time later in the grounds of a hospital in Marton Road, Middlesbrough, where the staff lived while they trained.
Teesside Crown Court heard yesterday that the 35-year-old has a criminal record going back 20 years which contains more than 100 offences.
Robert Mochrie, mitigating, said there had been no ransacking, no damage and no confrontation with the victim in the August 19 break-in.
Jailing him for two years and five months, Judge Howard Crowson told Davis: "You know it is inevitable you must receive a prison sentence."
Davis, of Marton Road, Middlesbrough, admitted burglary when he appeared via a video-link from Holme House Prison, Stockton.
